Venetian masterpieces just a few minutes away
The historical center of Venice is spread around Duodo Palace: museums, attractions and beautiful calli just a few steps away from your room. From Piazza San Marco to Palazzo Ducale and St. Mark's Basilica, from the Rialto Bridge to the famous Grand Canal, from Teatro La Fenice to the Bridge of Sighs.
Piazza San Marco
We’re within walking distance of the world’s most famous square. Piazza San Marco stands out for its fusion of style and beautiful glimpses that make it the star of the photographs of every tourist in Venice. Even Napoleon, who landed here with his troops in 1797, defined it “the world’s most beautiful sitting room”.
Doge’s Palace
Doge’s Palace is still in the exact same place where it used to be during the period of the Maritime Republic of Venice, when it was the home of the powerful Doges. With its two-colored marble and featuring its precious Golden Staircase, the building still preserves the charm of the ancient seat of the city’s political power.
St. Mark's Basilica
The most famous cathedral in the world and seat of the Patriarchate of Venice.
In the majesty of the golden mosaics and important works of art, you’ll get to know the history and legends it contains.
Rialto Bridge
From the numerous bridges of Venice, the Rialto Bridge is the most peculiar, and has been connecting the two sides of the Grand Canal since the 13th century. The current arched structure is the work of Antonio da Ponte, who was selected for this project instead of famous 16th-century architects such as Sansovino, Palladio and Michelangelo.
Grand Canal
Leaving Venice without having crossed the Grand Canal by gondola is a no-no. The city’s most famous “tour”, the façades of the buildings where power is held and powerful people still live, just like in the 18th century, the most commented festivals.
Teatro La Fenice
Teatro La Fenice is one of the world’s most prestigious theaters, and it has hosted premieres of operas by composers such as Giuseppe Verdi, Gioacchino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini, Gaetano Donizetti.
Bridge of Sighs
Together with the Rialto Bridge, the Bridge of Sighs is Venice’s most famous bridge. Doge’s Palace was connected to the Prisons through this bridge over the canal, crossed by convicts on their way to their execution. They would sigh as they viewed the city for the very last time, hence its name.
